Spotify the difference with the iPhone

Friday, August 28th, 2009 by Rachel Kneen

With many a different musical tastes in the 4Ps office we have become Spotify converts. As it isn’t a radio station it allows you to stream which tracks you want to listen to and create tailored playlists.

Now a few weeks ago Spotify announced their recent development of a Spotify app for the iPhone. Some were excited by the prospect, whilst others poo pooed the idea and said it would never happen! Well today the doubting Thomases were proved wrong…. Apple has approved the app and it will be available in their app store.

Great news I hear you cry but what does that actually mean? The added benefit is that all Premium subscribers in the UK, Sweden, France, Spain, Norway and Finland will be able to download Spotify for free from the app store. The added advantage is that you can make playlists are available offline – so if your off on your holidays never fear you’ll be able to listen to your favourite tracks on the trip. If, however, like the rest of us unfortunates you’d like something to cheer up the trek to the office because you didn’t win the lottery at the weekend then this may cheer you up!

We are waiting with baited breath for the announcement that it is available.
