Brands Using Social Media
A new study has found that people who are fans or followers of a brand on Facebook or Twitter are much more likely to purchase their products or recommend the brand. The study, carried out by Chadwick Martin Bailey and iModerate Research Technologies, focuses on brands using social media and the effect it has. The results concluded that consumers are 67% more likely to buy from the brands that they follow on Twitter and 51% more likely to buy from a brand that they are a fan of on Facebook. Additionally, they are 79% more likely to recommend brands followed on Twitter follows and 60% more likely on Facebook.
While these statistics are impressive, it must be remembered that most existing consumers of a particular brand will become a fan or follow them on Facebook and Twitter. Nevertheless, it is yet another compelling example of the advantage that brands using social media have over their competitors. The study also found that many consumers will view a brand in a negative light if it is not using social media .
The likes of Twitter and Facebook make it far easier to remain engaged with the target audience and brands using social media are reaping the benefits. You only need take a look at previous social media statistics , as well as these new results.
