Facebook Revenue Figures Estimated
Inside Facebook have made estimates as to how much revenue the social networking website will generate this year.
If their figures are to be believed, Facebook revenue could exceed $1 billion in 2010. This marks a huge increase in the estimated revenue generated in 2009, which stood at somewhere between $600 and $700 million. This impressive figure was estimated to come from four key areas, namely brand advertising, Microsoft advertising, virtual goods, and performance advertising.
The subject of Facebook revenue remains a shadowy area and it must be remembered that these figures are not official. As Facebook is a private company, it is under no obligation to release details of its finances but Inside Facebook is often praised for having fairly accurate data.
Whether or not these figures on Facebook revenue are accurate, it would be unwise to underestimate what the social networking website is capable of. Few would deny that Facebook is well on the way to establishing itself as the social networking website, much as Google became and remains the search engine.
