Google Maps Updated with Recommendation Feature
Google has many faces; a valuable source for research, a web-based email service and even a mobile phone provider, amongst others.
Now, Google Maps has been updated with a recommendation feature. On typing in the name of a restaurant, bar or other place you like, Google will provide you with a list of nearby places that you may also like.
Early reports have claimed that some of the places recommended have been somewhat strange considering what they had searched for. However, Google has said in their blog entry that a “broad set of signals” were being used and that they are “still working on refining these signals”.
It cannot be denied that “Need a mate? Google it!” does not have quite the same ring to it but if Google’s track record is anything to go by, this service may prove to be very useful indeed.
