Google Search Result Changes
Today whilst searching for Alibaba in Google.com I got as far as typing in ‘Aliba‘ when a link going straight to the alibaba.com homepage appeared amongst the recommended search queries:
In many this change seems to be ensuring that the users benefit from fewer clicks to their search results. But on top of this it should also offer a certain degree of brand protection with regards to both SEO and PPC. It is going to be very interesting to monitor how this affects PPC Click through rates and impressions for branded terms over the next few months.
At present this is only live on Google.com and for powerful websites; like Facebook, the BBC, MySpace etc.
