Google Updates
Google has revealed that its latest update, which they are calling ‘Caffeine’, is just around the corner. When the original news broke about the new update, a lot of webmasters would have been a bit nervous with the online Christmas rush soon to be upon us, but Google has moved to clarify that while it intends to update very soon, it won’t be until after the holidays.
The Caffeine update will look to improve on the ‘size, indexing speed, accuracy, comprehensiveness and other dimensions’ of search results. Google has already tested out Caffeine with a slightly different approach, by allowing users to preview the search results and getting feedback from them. Now with that information at their finger tips, all that remains to be seen is how big an impact the new update will have on page rankings. While it’s been described by Google as ‘next-generation architecture for Google’s web search’, online businesses will certainly be holding their breath…
