Google Videos
Google has now launched a Promoted Videos feature in the UK which will combine the search engine’s own pay per click ad format with the YouTube video search. The new YouTube video ads will function in the same way as Google’s existing paid advertisements; they will be priced on keyword performance and advertisers will be charged by the click.
The existing Google Adwords interface will be used to create the Promoted Video ad campaigns; enabling advertisers to select their own ad templates. YouTube will then display these brand created videos alongside organic search results with clickable overlay text on the ads that will direct users to the appropriate website.
These video ads will be created by the advertisers themselves and Google claims they will provide a fresh way of measuring both brand strength and ad effectiveness, particularly in the movie industry.
This new merger between Google and YouTube; two of the largest internet companies is certain to change the face of PPC and it is something we at 4Ps are looking forward to tackling ourselves.
