Here we go,
1. URLs – use the KISS policy! (Keep It Short and Simple). Avoid unnecessary folders from root and try to keep the website as flat as possible. Use keywords in URLs.
2. Structured Website – Design your website with easy navigational options. Breadcrumbs are an advantage and also help in building the site structure.
3. Javascripts – Googlebot is getting smarter by the day! It does find its way and figure out the contents of javascript just like it does with PDF and Flash, so be honest. Avoid linking via javascript.
4. Sitemap – Always update the sitemap at a regular time interval. Sitemaps have proven to increase the crawl rate of the URLs listed in them over the ones that are not listed and submitted to Google.
5. Link Actively – Link from pages with relevant information on what sits on your intended landing pages. Link Baiting is a good technique.
6. Page structure – Always define the headings with appropriate header tags. Also, try incorporating keywords if possible.
7. Page Speed – Try and keep the website light with compressed images and reduced pixel. Optimise caching with longer lasting cookies and other server side tweaks.
8. Meta – Keywords Meta does not affect your rankings, but title and description do. Give as much love possible!
9. Content is King – Write fresh and unique content for your user or target customers in the local way with simple words for easy understandability. Use appropriate keywords.
10. Monitor crawl stats – Use webmasters to monitor stats and take necessary actions.
