Iraqi Government Launches YouTube Channel
Whether it is used as a convenient way for a celebrity to speak to their fans, a member of the Royal family to speak to their people or for a Government to address the nation, YouTube is a powerful medium. In his prediction of the future of the internet , Google CEO Eric Schmidt believes that there will be a greater focus on video content.
What better way is there to deliver a message around the world?
It has been announced this week that the Iraqi Government is the latest to go online with YouTube, launching an official channel dedicated to publicising the Government’s proceedings and policies to a global audience.
Google’s Hunter Walk reports that the level of awareness and interest in YouTube is high, both from the Iraqi Government and the population.
Perhaps this is a sign that the Iraqi Government is seeking to become more accessible to people around the world.
