Keyword Research
Why should I perform keyword research?
The key aspect to any search engine optimisation process is phase one – Keyword Research. There are many diverse keywords that generate search engine result pages (SERP’s). An SEO engineer’s job is to distinguish which keywords the website should rank for thus gaining targeted traffic to the website.
What is included in the keyword research process?
The “keyword research” process isn’t just typing a few ideas into a keyword tool, it requires consideration of many aspects.
Key questions 4Ps Marketing discuss with clients during keyword research:
• Which keywords do you want users to find your website with?
• Who are your competitors and what are their keywords targets?
• Which keywords have you currently targeted, if any?
A combination of these questions will create a starting point for the research analysis to take place. The keyword research stage is one of the most intense sections of the SEO process because of its importance in the long term SEO strategy. Not only do the clients have to embrace SEO techniques but the SEO executives (like myself) have to adjust to the assortment of businesses we take on board. No client is the same and each have a specific audience they intend to target. It is our job at 4Ps Marketing to pinpoint how to attract and target the right traffic to the website, in order to convert sales/leads/signup’s etc.
