New iPhone 4 Review
Evidently it’s a big year for Apple; new iPad, new iPhone 4 , and I’m sure they’ll be something new just in time for Christmas. So what does this new mini iPad have to offer?
If anyone currently has a iPhone 3G or 3Gs you will know the handicap that is currently it’s camera; Apple have obviously realised that this tech spec needed some TLC, and has really pulled it through with 5 MP camera, a retina display, two cameras, and a two view video calling system. This, along with the HD video recording, editing and movie sharing is a huge improvement.
Now onto the e-reader; something I’m not so keen on for the size of the device. Let’s face it, Apple were never not going to have iBooks; it was only a matter of time. The integrated e-reader is a brilliant idea for say the iPad; it’s one of the reasons to buy one. They not only offer boredom release, but it has the substantial size to deal with the objective of the application. However, for a user’s eyesight I think risk management needed to be carried out! We spend half our time on these miniature devices, but to read whole books on a screen this size would qualify for a medal.
What about the new feature of folders for apps? How many applications does someone actually need? The more applications I tend to download onto my current iPhone, the more the battery life diminishes, and often promotes stages of freezing. So why would I want a number of folders that hold a number of different apps? One thing it might be good for is social media; having all of these under one button would definitely be a good thing.
Despite having uncertainty towards some of the new features I’m sure as long as the overall performance is better than the 3G in terms of battery life and unfreezability, then I’m onboard!
If you do decide that the new iPhone 4 is for you, it is available to buy from the 24th June 2010. Until it’s release however, you current iPhone users can upgrade your software to iOS Software upgrade ; which will give you some of the new features, but obviously not all of them.
