Online Charity Giving
Not only is the internet fantastic for online shopping, social networking and route planning, but it’s also probably the best way to raise money for charities. Long gone are the days of bringing paper forms into the office, or knocking on doors asking for sponsorship now that there are plenty of online charity giving sites. Not only do they allow your sponsors to donate online, but also allow you to spread the word about your event through social networking sites .
All you have to do to start raising money is to choose an event, choose a charity, fill in your details and you are given a whole webpage to yourself or your team, on your chosen online charity giving site, and watch the money roll in (well to a certain degree). This makes it a lot quicker and easier for donations to be given as it is all via an online transaction; so no cash needed. What you need to ensure you do though is to promote yourself through social media sites so that people know what you’re doing and why; this should be an ongoing process.
iTunes haven’t missed out on the action either. They have teamed up with one of the most popular fundraising online communities Justgiving.org and introduced an iPhone App, through which users can donate and fundraisers can monitor and promote through the internet.
For the lead up towards the World Cancer Research Fund Beat the Banana 5k Fun Run, that the 4Ps Marketing team have decided to take part in; we have decided to use Virgin Money Giving as our chosen online charity giving site, as they were connected to WCRF online.
