SEO Report From Google
Yesterday it emerged that Google have recently been turning their attentions inwards as they released their Google Report Card , which was previously only seen internally. The SEO report card was created for their own Google Products pages in a bid to improve their own practices; both for users and SEO.
The report is broken down into 3 sections:
• Search result presentation
• URLs and redirects
• Onsite optimisation
The 3 main priorities stressed in the report card are the following:
• help users find pages more easily in search engines
• fix bugs that annoy visitors and damage rankings in search engines
• serve as a good model for outside webmasters and companies
Although their SEO report will probably not reveal anything new to experienced search engine optimisers, it has definitely provided a talking point in our office. The black and white, right and wrong examples from Google’s own search engine optimisations will also provide many webmasters with the straight answers from an authoritative source that they crave.
