Twitter Tales – What Is Your Twitter Story?
And no, I’m not talking about fairy tales told in tweets, although that would be quite cool.
Twitter Tales is a newly launched section of the popular microblogging website and, according to the official Twitter blog, it will showcase the best and most creative examples of Twitter use. Communications staffer Carolyn Penner describes Twitter Tales as “examples of great Twitter use [that] will also likely inspire others to use the service in innovative and interesting ways.”
The first three accounts to be featured on Twitter Tales are @natashabadhwar, a filmmaker from New Delhi, who uses Twitter as a form of self-therapy, @caltrain, which aims to limit just how much of a nightmare a daily commute with Caltrain can become and, my personal favourite, @thebloggess, whose campaign to get William Shatner to call round for dinner led to the Star Trek actor blocking her account. (A second, even more enthusiastic campaign, led to him unblocking her account.)
The Twitter Tales website does not just highlight creative uses of Twitter, but also goes into detail about the user, the inspiration behind their Twitter use and their Tweeting highlights. Twitter Tales seems to have gotten off to a good start and I am certain that we are about to see some absolutely amazing uses of social media.
If you have any Twitter Tales to tell, email your story to tales@twitter.com
