Why sustainable SEO?
4Ps Marketing have always pushed the merits of sustainable SEO and it is still as relevant now as when we coined it in 2003. Even now people often question this at exhibitions, conferences and in day to day discussion.
The principle is simple; Use SEO techniques that deliver sustainable results over the long term.
So why does sustainable SEO sometimes come under question?
As in all business situations people want results and they want them yesterday. This is understandable but as an agency it is our job to set expectations for all stakeholders when working on an SEO project. We encounter agencies all the time with the latest trick or the next big idea in SEO. It is more often than not that these types of agencies / consultants come from an IT background. It is really important to have good technical people on board for an SEO project but being IT led within the SEO industry can be dangerous and is often the reason for the big SEO mess ups that you read about.
As ever it comes back to 1 thing in SEO; relevant results. If people don’t get relevant results when they type a query into Google then they will eventually use another search engine. People can get very caught up in the next new link building strategy or big arguments over the impact of social media on search results but the principles remain clear; deliver relevant content, based on the search query, through sustainable SEO .
