Wolfram Alpha and Microsoft Bing Announce Deal
Microsoft Bing has announced their partnership deal with Wolfram Alpha that they hope will enhance their search result accuracy and also gain some ground over Google’s market dominance.
Wolfram Alpha is the computational knowledge engine specialising in quantifiable data that believes in ‘Making the World’s knowledge computable’ and works very differently from conventional search engines. Launched in May Wolfram Alpha uses data collected over the years to provide users with dynamic computational knowledge.
Both mathematical and visual this computational knowledge engine will not be able to tell you who has been booted off the X Factor this week but uses intuitive language understanding to provide answers to complex questions and heralds the future of master data management.
Wolfram Alpha have been quoted as saying that
The introduction of computational knowledge (specifically nutrition, health and mathematics) into the Bing search results will make an exciting addition to their service and it remains be seen how Google plan to match this.
