YouTube to Launch Real Time Search
YouTube has announced this week that it will launch a search feature to display comments in real time. This Comment Search function that is still being developed will allow YouTube users to search for comments that are being made in real time. Thus giving full priority to recent comments and will display relevant comments in results as they are submitted.
This will work in the same way as the current Twitter search function that allows users to search comments that are being made in ‘trending topics’. YouTube will then be able to show which topics are currently being discussed most on the site.
The Comment Search functions will mean that users will be able to view the latest stories with ease and it will make it easier for the Brands using the site to gauge consumer opinion in real time.
This news follows the recent announcement that Bing and Google have reached an agreement with Twitter to show real time Twitter updates in their search results.
This is available for testing now at the YouTube Test Tube.
