For businesses, Facebook and other social networks have generally been marketing and brand management playgrounds where marketing departments and agencies try to promote and project a positive influence for their businesses. It has always been difficult to gauge the conversions from this positive influence, so rather than waiting for a positive influenced customer to land on their website and maybe convert, businesses have set up virtual shops on Facebook pages. There are applications that allow storefronts on Facebook. These storefronts are like catalogues with social features such as comments and product reviews, but would not allow an e commerce transaction within the Facebook platform. The Social Network – Should Facebook Be Worried?
Though it hasn’t been released here yet, it would seem that The Social Network’s success is already guaranteed. The US release has scooped $23 million, while film critics are heaping it with praise. “Flawless”, “impeccably directed” and “modern filmmaking at its finest” are all examples of the praise given to the film so far.
