Link bait
Link bait is often regarded as a natural way of attracting back links to your web page. One engaging way to create back links is through enticing people to talk, discuss and blog about the post on social networking sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon. This can only be successful and measurable through the use of a good SEO and PPC strategy, as Matt Cutts head of Google’s Web spam team acknowledged stating that link bait needs to be “interesting enough to catch people’s attention.”
Search engine ranking algorithms use many metrics to rank websites. Two of the most important factors to be considered are the quantity and quality elements of inbound links. One way of developing successful link bait is through the creation of flash mob events.
