Google Music Search

Google Music Search

Google has now teamed with the music giants Lala, MySpace, Pandora, EMI and Warner Bros Records to provide users with the new Google Music Search feature that will allow full song streaming in their search results. Google claims that the aim of this new feature is to allow users to listen to their chosen song to verify it is the right one before buying via iMeem, iLike, Lala, Pandora, or Rhapsody. So far this has only been released in the US but is set to go worldwide shortly.

Users will also be able to find the right song by typing the lyrics into Google Music Search to receive the full lyrics and song for streaming. Streams via Lala will allow users to listen to the whole song once and will then switch to a 30 second preview so this cannot be used to replace other streaming platforms such as Spotify.

Google Music Lyric Search

Google Music Search will now provide a great way for users to find new sources of licensed music on the Internet. It will also make it easier to identify new music through Google’s music partners and also by identifying songs through partial lyrics.

Google has not been the first search engine to release music streams in its search results as Yahoo has been doing so for the past year, what now remains to be seen is how Microsoft Bing will react Google’s latest feature.
