Snaptags- the end of the QR Code?
The other day I was reading an article about snaptags, regarding a case study involving top fashion magazine Glamour. Glamour Magazine put a snaptag on their cover, with an end result of over 100,000 scans. Used in conjunction with Google Analytics, Websites will be able to fully analyse the impact that twitter has on the visitor numbers to their sites. Enabling the ability to see the path that the visitor has taken to get to the site, the ways in which the content is being shared, along with the effectiveness of the incorporation of the Twitter Button within their site.

UK Riots – Is Twitter to Blame?
For those of us who live and work in and around London, and some of the other major UK cities the last week has been both frightening and eye opening. Last Saturday a peaceful protest seemed to turn nasty causing massive uproar in and around Tottenham and Enfield. All too quickly copycat rioting and looting took place across London leaving some parts like Croydon badly damaged. This rioting continued across the UK hitting Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, West Bromwich and Bristol.
As with any national incident the public, media, police and politicians looked for a catalyst which could have caused such civil unrest to be co-ordinated and to happen so quickly. Many people blamed Social Media, in particular Twitter and the use of Blackberry Instant Messenger. So is Social Media really to blame?

Social Media for the Gambling Sector
10 years ago gambling would only occur within the confines of betting shops, casinos, race tracks & the odd ‘friendly’ wager within the pub. Now in 2012 it is very unlikely that you can surf the web without seeing some kind of online betting advert. There is no doubt that this is a sector of extreme growth; however I’m writing this post to assess how companies such as Ladbrokes, Bet Fred & Paddy Power are using Social Media to enhance online gambling.
