Search Plus Your World – What is it and what are its Implications?
Google has been rocking the boat once again with the introduction of its latest big algorithm update, branded Search, plus Your World. Search, plus Your World places emphasis on social media platforms in search results, in particular its own, Google+ with the aim of enhancing a user’s search experience with personalisation and social influences. There are a number of exciting components that make up this new social search experience, and some implications for SEO and social media strategies and search results.

Google Offer Extensions Impact On Footfall
Last year Google launched Google Offers, a coupon-voucher discount platform. This launched them into a new arena of affiliate style services. They have since launched a beta feature called Google Offer Extensions, which has integrated offers with search. This has been trialling in the US since last year and has been extended to the UK.

Setting up integrated KPIs for social media and tracking the influence social media is having on your revenue is a large focus for many business’ looking to invest or build on the Social marketing they have already started.

Social Media for the Gambling Sector
10 years ago gambling would only occur within the confines of betting shops, casinos, race tracks & the odd ‘friendly’ wager within the pub. Now in 2012 it is very unlikely that you can surf the web without seeing some kind of online betting advert. There is no doubt that this is a sector of extreme growth; however I’m writing this post to assess how companies such as Ladbrokes, Bet Fred & Paddy Power are using Social Media to enhance online gambling.
