A study to identify the most visted ecommerce websites in the UK for the November 2009 and February 2010 quarter reveals some surprising online shopping statistics. UK consumers enjoy online shopping and like to buy from trusted sites, those with the best deals.
Okay it’s not the revelation you were hoping for but it does shed some light on UK Online shopping Statistics, here are the top 10 ecommerce sites for the quarter;

- Argos
- Play.com
- Apple Computer
- Amazon.com
- Tesco.com
- Marks & Spencer
- John Lewis
- Next
- Easyjet
The top four websites retain their November 2009 positions as the most visited ecommerce sites in the UK, indicating consumer confidence in their products, services and security. Our online shopping statistics for the Christmas period indicates a similar trend amongst the top companies.
Airline companies also ranked highly for the quarter with Easyjet at 10, Ryanair at 16 and British Airways at number 31, whilst Thomson Holidays at 11, Thomas Cook at 15 and Travelrepublic.co.uk in at number 39 indicates a seasonal trend for the quarter. Experian Hitwise Director of Research Robin Goad states this trend may represent ‘British consumers turning their attentions to planning and booking their summer holidays’.

What I find strange is why eBay is not included in the top ten? I would’ve thought it would definately be in the top 5!
i agree with charlotte. infact i thought ebay will come after amazon but it seems that ebay doesn’t exist here. O.o
